Over 1,000 Join ADC in Rivers as Chairman Declares Party Structure Not for Sale

The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, Egbagiri Ode-Lawrence, has announced a significant boost in the party’s membership, revealing that over 1,000 people have registered with the ADC since the formation of the new coalition.

Speaking to our reporter, Emelda Ifeme, Ode-Lawrence stated that the new members defected from various political parties, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party, and several political support groups. He added that the party continues to receive strong interest from more individuals across the state who are eager to join the growing movement.

The Rivers ADC Chairman also disclosed that during a recent meeting in Abuja, the party’s interim National Chairman, Senator David Mark, reassured state chairmen across the federation that the coalition’s aim is to “rescue Nigeria from the ruling APC-led government,” and not to hijack the party’s structure or leadership.

Ode-Lawrence firmly declared that “the ADC structure in Rivers State is not for sale,” emphasizing the party’s commitment to transparency, grassroots engagement, and credible leadership.

In a notable political development, he also identified former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, as the political leader of the ADC in the region, a move that is expected to further strengthen the party’s presence and influence in the state ahead of future elections.
