Oscar Back to Court, appeal against six-year jail term

This time; the prosecutors want to seek permission to formally appeal against the six-year jail term imposed on PISTOTIUS for the murder of his girlfriend.

Twenty-nine year-old PISTORIUS was convicted of killing REEVA STEENKAMP on Valentine’s Day in February 2013, but the prosecutors believe the sentence is far below the crime.

PISTORIUS was initially given a five-year jail term for manslaughter in 2014, but was found guilty of murder on appeal last December and sentenced last month by Judge THOKOZILE MASIPA.
