You would recall that the EFCC had obtained the court’s orders for the interim forfeiture of a multimillion naira estate, hotel, shopping plaza, supermarket, hospital, two schools and four vehicles all belonging to the former governor, his wife and their daughter.
The anti-graft agency had also questioned how Rochas Foundation and other accomplices had acquired and or converted some of the property for personal use.
However, the presiding Judge, KOLAWOLE OMOTOSO, vacating the order, lifted the forfeiture order on some of the properties especially the schools to enable students to resume for the new academic year, following the submission by OKOROCHA’s Lawyer, OKEY AMAECHI, that the forfeiture order displayed on the school gates would negatively affect resumption of academic activities in the new session and also discourage parents from registering their children and wards in the schools.
The court also made another order restraining OKOROCHA and his family members from selling any of the properties pending the conclusion of investigation by the EFCC.
