Some groups and individuals within the Ogoni axis had questioned the choice of WALE EDUN as Chairman of the Board, on the grounds that he did not play any role in the struggle for the clean-up exercise.
However, PETER MEDEE who a lecturer in the University of Port Harcourt, said it does not matter who heads the board, adding that what really matters is the actual implementation of the UNEP Report.
MEDEE who spoke with our correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA, expressed confidence that the BOT Chairman would ensure that the Ogoni cleanup was done without fear or favour.
PETER MEDEE also played down calls for him to resign as President of the apex Ogoni socio-cultural group – KAGOTE Worldwide, explaining that it was not a pressure group.
