Our correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR was at the Command Headquarters on Moscow Road and reports that officers were looking downcast as they discussed the passing of CP FRANCIS ODESANYA.
Several dignitaries and representatives of corperate organizations and groups were also seen at the Police Command, as they dropped messages in the condolence register at the reception area.
Some military personnel, as well as officers from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Federal Road Safety Corps, NDLEA, Nigerian Custom Service and the Civil Defense Corps were all represented.
Addressing newsmen at the police command; the South-South Zonal Head of EFCC, ISHAKU SALLUHU, described the death of C.P ODESANYA as a great lost to the entire security system in the region.
Meanwhile; the Police Public Relations Officer, NNAMDI OMONI told newsmen that the command was expecting the posting of a new Commissioner of Police to replace late CP FRANCIS ODESANYA.
