The Obio/Akpor Security Planning and Advisory Committee (OSPAC) has announced its return to active operations following the Supreme Court’s removal of Chijioke Ihunwo as chairman of Obio/Akpor.
Azubuike Amadi, leader of OSPAC in the local government area, made the announcement in response to the appointment of Obitex Nwokorho from the Onelga security outfit as the new OSPAC commander for Obio/Akpor. In an interview, Amadi stated that OSPAC operates independently within its jurisdiction and does not fall under the control of the Onelga security outfit.
Felix Ichebadu-Ochonma, General Secretary of the Obio/Akpor Security Planning and Advisory Committee, urged security agencies to intervene to prevent any potential conflicts arising from the situation. He reaffirmed OSPAC’s commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring the protection of lives and property in line with established regulations.
As OSPAC resumes its operations, community leaders and residents are hopeful for improved security and stability in the region.
