This time; Governor WIKE said Nigerian security agencies orchestrated the violence that marred the rerun with a motive to make the state ungovernable for politically-motivated reasons.
Governor also alleged that the Police High Command has arrested all his personal police details who accompanied him to the collation centre for Rivers East Senatorial District rerun at the Port Harcourt City Local Government council.
Governor WIKE claimed the policemen were arrested because they accompanied him to stop SARS Commander AKIN FAKOREDE from rigging Rivers East Senatorial District rerun.
The State Governor gave these indications when he addressed members of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Council who paid him a goodwill Christmas visit at the Government House.
According to a statement released by his Special Assistant on Electronic Media, Governor WIKE said that was compelled to take action because the previous day policemen and soldiers were used by the APC at Ikwerre LGA to beat up PDP agents and force Collation Officers to concoct results.
The Governor said he will do everything to ensure that the peace in the state in not compromised just he called on the traditional rulers to promote peace in their different communities.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Rivers state Council of Traditional Rulers, King DANDISON JAJA commended the Governor for the his initiatives to ensure that Rivers state is peaceful.
