Nigeria Police Command dismisses media report accusing IGP of fraud and abuse of public trust.

Reacting to the allegation in a report by an online publication, the Force Public Relations Officer, DONALD AWUNAH described the insinuations as mischievous, distractive and misleading.
 
AWUNAH, who is a Deputy Commissioner of Police, disclosed in a statement that the Nigeria Police Force would ordinarily not join issues on news item that has no substance and completely false, but had to intervene to put the record straight.
 
 He described the report as the handiwork of detractors and mischief makers, whose aim was to divert the focus of the Inspector General of Police from carrying out his statutory duties of ensuring that Nigeria was secured and free of crime.
 
The Force spokesman urged the general public to disregard the story, stressing that it was totally unfounded and without any iota of truth.
 
He equally implored social media outfits not to allow malicious individuals and mischief makers to take advantage of them to misinform and mislead the public.
