Ahmad Suleiman, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs in Niger State, has announced that over 200 corpses of victims have been recovered following the devastating floods that struck Mokwa Local Government Area.
Suleiman stated that while more than 200 bodies have been retrieved, the search for additional victims is ongoing. He emphasized that the exact number of casualties remains uncertain, as the situation continues to evolve.
In response to the disaster, the Niger State government has activated an emergency response plan and begun distributing relief materials to those displaced by the floods. Authorities are working tirelessly to provide aid and support to affected communities amid the ongoing crisis.
