Covid-19: Schools in Rivers State advised to adhere to protocols ahead of resumption

Ahead of school resumption in Rivers state, Principals in public schools have been advised to adhere strictly to all Covid-19 protocols. 

Rivers state Commissioner for Education, Professor Kaniye Ebeku who made this known to newsmen after meeting with principals of the approved centres for the West African Examination Council, WAEC stressed the need for schools to partner with the state government in the fight against coronavirus.


He however, disclosed that four hundred and forty seven private schools centers have been approved adding that the students are being prepared through the e-learning exercise which began in March.


Some of principals of public schools expressed readiness for resumption of schools.


Our correspondent Sandra Kenneth reports that the Ministry of Education has commenced the distribution of hand sanitizers and other Covid-19 equipment provided by the Rivers state government for staff and students.
