Physical planing and development amendment bill 2020 passes first reading in Rivers house

The Rivers State Physical Planning and Development Amendment Bill 2020 has passed its first reading on the floor of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

The Executive Bill which was presented by Majority leader of the house, Martin Amaehule seeks to amend the Rivers State Physical Planning and Development law Number Six of 2003.

 

In another development, the Rivers State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed four nominees as members of the Rivers State Judicial Service Commission.

 

The nominees are Chima Boms, Assa-Moni Nwinia, Ibim Dokubo and Richard Ehie. 

 

Their screening and confirmation was in line with a request sent to the house by Governor Nyesom Wike and read on the floor by the Speaker, Ikuinyi Owaji Ibani.

 

Our correspondent Victor Ezeama reports that the Speaker Ikuinyi Ibani confirmed the nominees after being grilled by members of the house.
