The governors of South-Eastern states have called for a meeting in Owerri, Imo State to discuss the unfolding pro-Biafra agitation. The meeting was called out of concern following the growing intensity of the protests, which have moved from Port Harcourt to Onitsha, Asaba, Enugu and down to Aba. Reports indicate that another protest by the pro-Biafra agitators is also going down simultaneously in Ebonyi State. The meeting is at the instance of Governor ROCHAS OKOROCHA, who doubles as the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum, which is the umbrella body of APC state governors. A statement released to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, SAM ONWUEMEODO, indicates that the leadership of Ohaneze Ndigbo, and other stakeholders in the South-East geo-political zone are expected at the meeting this weekend. You will recall that the agitators had over the weekend issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to address their demand or face mass civil disobedience protest.
