Lawmaker donates N1m to strengthen security in Rivers State

The Rivers State House of Assembly has mandated an adhoc committee to meet with security stakeholders and get back to the house over the Security Trust funds bill.

 The majority leader of the house, MARTIN AMEAHULE who led the debate said the bill when passed into law will address some issues affecting funding of security in the state.

 

The speaker of the house in his resolution said the bill will help checkmate proper monitoring and accountability.

 

The lawmaker representing Oyigbo, PROMISE NWANKWO and some other lawmakers in their contributions said the bill correct some wrongs in the security sector in the state.

 

Meanwhile, the lawmaker representing Asari-Toru constituency one, TEKENARI WELLINGTON on the floor of the house promised to donate a million naira to kick-start the security trust funds board to further strengthen security activities in the state.

 

Our Correspondent reports that the house adjourned sitting till Thursday 9th of April next month.
