The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has ranked Rivers state as the second state in the federation where money is mostly laundered.

Acting Chairman of the EFCC, IBRAHIM MAGU said this while briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt on the gains of the anti-graft agency.

MAGU said that the Commission has focused its attention on the concern which is being delayed by several court cases, adding that the rampant cases of money laundering are because of the status of Port Harcourt as an oil city.

On the issue of oil theft and illegal crude oil business, the EFCC boss, IBRAHIM MAGU said the two hundred and forty four trucks impounded by the army has been put up for auction.

Our correspondent IFUNANYA OBEME-NDUKWE reports that the case is being handled by the EFCC, Department of Petroleum Resources and other relevant agencies.

You will recall that some two hundred and forty four trucks involved in illegal petroleum dealings were impounded by the Nigerian army in 2018.
