The All Progressives Congress has hailed the Senate for the confirmation of ministerial nominees. The APC said the successful conclusion of the screening and confirmation is a clear indication that there is no more division among senators of the ruling party.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity of the APC, LAI MOHAMMED, the party noted that the cohesion and unity exhibited by APC Senators
have shown that they were ready to work with the executive to achieve the agenda of the party. The APC spokesman said the party also took note of the walk-out staged by the opposition PDP Senators over the confirmation of former governor ROTIMI AMAECHI. He maintained that such action was expected in a democracy, which provides that while the minority can have their say, the majority will have their way.
Similarly; the APC governorship candidate in Rivers State, DAKUKU PETERSIDE, has thanked APC Senators for the confirmation of former governor, ROTIMI AMAECHI. PETERSIDE commended the senators for their states-manly conduct, despite what he described as contrived controversies and unproven allegations that trailed AMAECHI’s nomination. Speaking in Abuja after the Senate confirmation exercise; PETERSIDE said it was reassuring that the Senate displayed courage and avoided playing unnecessary politics with issues around ministerial nomination, screening and confirmation.
The APC governorship candidate said he was very happy that the Senate did not disappoint supporters and well-wishers of ROTIMI AMAECHI. PETERSIDE also advised the PDP government in Rivers State to stop deploying resources meant for the development and welfare of the people towards maligning and disparaging people and institutions.
