The leadership of the Labour Party in Rivers State has disassociated itself from statements credited to the governorship candidate of the party, Prince TONYE PRINCEWILL and another chieftain, CHIOMA CHINWO on the annulment of the Rivers State governorship election. State Chairman of the Labour Party, FELIX FAVOUR urged the general public to disregard the statements by PRINCEWILL and CHINWO, stressing that the party believes in the rule of law and stands by the ruling of the tribunal.

The leadership of the Labour Party in Rivers State has disassociated itself from statements credited to the governorship candidate of the party, Prince TONYE PRINCEWILL and another chieftain, CHIOMA CHINWO on the annulment of the Rivers State governorship election. State Chairman of the Labour Party, FELIX FAVOUR urged the general public to disregard the statements by PRINCEWILL and CHINWO, stressing that the party believes in the rule of law and stands by the ruling of the tribunal. FAVOUR also told a news conference in Port Harcourt that the Labour Party was ready for a re-run of the governorship election.
On his part, ISAAC WONWU who is the chairman of the disciplinary committee of Labour Party in Rivers State, said TONYE PRINCEWILL remains suspended from the party and cannot speak its behalf. You will recall that Prince TONYE PRINCEWILL had advised the PDP and Governor NYESOM WIKE not to appeal against the judgment of the governorship election tribunal. However; CHIOMA CHINWO also of the Labour Party kicked against the judgment of the tribunal and endorsed the PDP administration led by Governor NYESOM WIKE.
