The Rivers State House of Assembly has suspended the screening of SYLVANUS NWANKWO from Etche as Commissioner-designate.

The House stopped the screening of NWANKWO after the member representing Khana Constituency two, PRINCE MGBOR pointed out that the nominee failed to provide his tax clearance certificate.

Our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that the observation by MGHOR stirred other Lawmakers to kick against NWANKWO's confirmation who said his tax was deducted from source when he served as the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Community Affairs during Governor NYESOME WIKE's first tenure.

In his ruling, Speaker of the Assembly, IKUINYI OWAJI-IGBANI asked SYLVANUS NWANKWO to provide and submit his tax certificate to the Leader, MARTIN AMAEWHULE.
