Labour movement in Rivers state reject contributory healthcare protection bill

The Labour Movement in Rivers state says it will resist the Contributory Healthcare Protection Bill of the state House of Assembly if it is made compulsory.

Chairman of the Rivers state Council of the Nigerian Labour Congress, BEATRICE ITUBO said the bill should not be made compulsory for workers.

While commending the state government for it initiative to ensure the proper healthcare of workers, ITUBO warned that workers must not be forced to enrol into the scheme.

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent CHINEDU IWUNNA, the Labour leader said his union will not hesitate to take a legal action against the state government if the bill is passed the way is it.
