Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE has commissioned the Rumukwurusi-Elelenwo-Akpajo Road.

The governor, who noted that many residents of the area would have forgotten the deplorable nature of the road linking the two local government areas before his administration's intervention, lauded the contractor for delivering what he described as one of the best qualities of roads.

He also formally renamed the Rumukwurusi-Elelenwo-Akpajo Road as Justice ICHE NDU Road in honour of the Former Chief Judge of Rivers State.

Residents of the communities, Rumukwurusi, Elelenwo and Akpajo in Obio/Akpor and Eleme Local Government Areas commended Governor Wike for the dualisation of the magnificent 5.6 kilometre Road, just as they lined up the road, singing praises of the governor.

According to the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works, WALTER NDU, the 5.6 kilometre Road has five round-abouts and ducts for telecommunication companies to set up their facilities.

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, SOLOMON EKE, who was present at the commissioning, expressed his gratitude and commended the State Government for delivering on the project.

He also pledged that Eleme and Obio/Akpor Local Government Councils will maintain the roads properly, adding that they would not allow anyone dump refuse on the median of the road.
