PMB TO DEEPEN RELATIONSHIPS WITH ALLIES
President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged the commitment of the Federal Government to continue to deepen relationships with allies around the world.
President Buhari said the government’s commitment is particularly to countries that share mutually beneficial interest with Nigeria.
The President made the pledge when he received the outgoing ambassadors of Ethiopia and Turkey at the State House in Abuja.
Buhari said the core policies of the current administration, which focus of securing the country, fighting corruption, and reviving the economy, cannot be effectively done without good relationship with allies.
He observed that when a country is in good terms with its neighbours, it would spend less on security and invest more resources on infrastructural development.
President Buhari particularly congratulated Ethiopia on the political stability that has been attained in the country, after a recent change of the Prime Minister.
And for Turkey; President Buhari applauded the close relationship with Nigeria and thanked the government for academic scholarships granted to young Nigerians in recent times.
Details of the President’s interaction with the foreign envoys were contained in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina
