Rivers State: 32 IPOB members remanded in Prison.
Thirty members of the Indigenous People of Biafra who were arrested by the Police have been remanded in prison by the Magistrate Court in Port Harcourt.
32 IpoThe people remanded in prison were those arrested by Police following the alleged killing of a police officer and fracas that broke out in Oyigbo Local government area of the State on Tuesday.
Our correspondent VICTOR EZEAMA reports that the suspects were charged with treason, murder, felony and other sundry crimes.
Chief Magistrate AMADI-NNA however declined jurisdiction on the matter and referred the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution for advice.
Prosecution Counsel, EUNOCH GEORGE told newsmen that the Police will ensure that the suspects were prosecuted in line with the Nigerian constitution.
On his part; Defence Counsel, DONALD LOHO said all necessary options would be explored to ensure the release the suspects.
