The Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General TUKUR BURATAI is expected to be at an emergency meeting called by the South East Governor’s Forum tomorrow over Sunday’s clash involving troops of the Nigerian Army and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Members of the IPOB were also contacted by the Governors for the meeting.

The Governors had set up a seven man committee led by Professor SIMON UCHENNA ORTUANYA to investigate the issues surrounding the fracas.

The committee is expected to report its findings during the forum’s emergency meeting tomorrow.

The South East Governor’s forum refuted the claim in some quarters that it has taken a position regarding the presence of the military in the region.

It said the alleged issue of condemning the youths or the military has not arisen as the governors will have to get first-hand information on both sides so that they can take definite approach towards solving the problem.
