After hours of a secret meeting with the Minister of Health, the leadership of the National Association of Resident Doctors has directed its members to return to work starting from tomorrow.

This follows the suspension of the one week old strike called by the doctors over the failure of the federal government to addresses their demands.

The group’s president elect, CHINAKA UGOCHUKWU, who confirmed the development to newsmen, said the details about the decisions will be made public by the association, at a press briefing.

NARD had on Monday, September 4, declared an indefinite strike to protest poor welfare of members and demand for improved conditions of service.

The doctors had assured the federal government after a marathon meeting last week that they would only suspend the strike after members get credit alert from their banks, indicating payments of parts of the salary arrears that the government is owing to them.
