The Minister of Youth and Sports, SOLOMON DALUNG has intervened in a case of rejection of members of the National Youth Service Corps from Rivers State who were rejected by the Budget Office of the Federation.

According to a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, NNEKA IKEM ANIBEZE, DALUNG frowned at the incessant rejection of Corps members by government agencies.

The Minister noted that the rejection of NYSC members for primary assignment in government offices was not in the interest of youth development and empowerment in the country.

He reminded Government agencies and parastatals that it was a government policy not to reject corps members posted to their offices for primary assignment.

The National Youth Service Corp scheme is a creation of the federal government and is intended to involve the Nigerian graduates in the development of the country.
