Aftermath of Flood: Obio-Akpor communities counting losses.

Inhabitants of Rukpokwu and Eneka communities in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State are still in deep pain from the devastation caused by the flooding of last weekend.

Four days after the rains subsided, many houses around Rukpokwu remain submerged, with several families rendered homeless, without any help from the authorities.

Our correspondent visited the flooded Rukpokwu neighbourhood and spoke with some of the inhabitants, including the Chairman of the Community Development Committee, COLLINS CHINDA, who called for help to mitigate the impact of the disaster and appealed to the victims to remain calm.

COLLINS CHINDA also hinted that the Rivers State Government has promised to assist the flood victims and expressed the hope that things would soon return to normal for the Rukpokwu flood victims.

That was the Chairman of Rukpokwu Community Development Committee, COLLINS CHINDA.
