All is set for the launch of a new national orientation campaign by the Federal Government tagged “HIYA Nigeria”.

Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO is billed to officially unveil the “HIYA Nigeria” campaign in Abuja, which is part of activities marking the 2017 National Symbols Day.

The campaign is being put together by the National Orientation Agency in partnership with the Nigerian Television Authority and other stakeholders.

A representative of the NOA Director General, NGOZI EKOBE ?said the campaign acronym is derived from the three major indigenous languages, which are Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba as well as all other languages grouped under A.

The official said the HIYA Nigeria Project is structured to provide civic education through the use of indigenous languages towards sensitizing and enlightening Nigerians on the significance of national symbols.

The NOA official stressed the need for deeper public appreciation and respect for national symbols to enhance their dignity and honour and to check the prevailing high rate of abuse in the country.
