Reaction trails over NBS report on Nigeria recession.

Mixed reactions continue to trail the report by the National Bureau of Statistics indicating that the Nigerian economy has emerged from recession.

Port Harcourt-based procurement expert, BIOBELE ARIMIE is questioning the yardsticks used by the NBS in drawing its conclusion.

 

 

Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, ARIMIE said the positive outlook of the statistics bureau was imaginary, adding that the Federal Government was playing a mind game with Nigerians.

 

 

 

BIOBELE ARIMIE maintained that the zero point five-five percent Gross Domestic Product Growth reported by the National Bureau of Statistics was not enough to take the economy out of recession.

 

 

 

You will recall that President MUHAMMADU BUHARI had in his twitter handle @MBuhari, noted that the real change for Nigerians is an impact that is felt in their lives and their pockets. 

 

The President said his administration was on the right path, and would continue to work until coming out of recession translates into meaningful improvement in the life of Nigerians.

 

 

Similarly; the Vice President, Professor YEMI OSINBAJO said it was with cautious optimism that the Buhari Administration received the NBS Second Quarter Report.
