The Federal Government has secured the commitment of the British Government to invest funds in petroleum pipeline, gas and power infrastructure.
This was made known by the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, PAUL ARKWRIGHT, when the Group General Manager in charge of Public Affairs of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NDU UGHAMADU, paid him a courtesy visit at the British High Commission in Abuja.
ARKWRIGHT noted in a statement released by the NNPC that the British Government had genuine investment interest in the Downstream, Midstream and Upstream sectors.
The British envoy said the British Department for International Trade was ready to liaise with the Federal Government to invest in Nigeria.
The High Commissioner also urged the Federal Government and the NNPC to organize a road show in London to create awareness on the possible investment opportunities available in the Nigerian Oil and Gas sector.
In his response, the NNPC’s spokesman, NDU UGHAMADU, who spoke on behalf of the Group Managing Director of the Corporation, MAIKANTI BARU, commended the High Commissioner for the promptness in issuing visas to Nigerian officials.
