General MINIMAH assured them that the fight against terrorism would soon be over as the Nigerian Army would continue to set up court-martial to check indiscipline among troops operating in North-East.

MINIMAH gave the assurance at the Inter-Denominational Church Service to mark the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2015 in Maiduguri, Borno State.
He said the army was taking all proactive measures to restore sanity and restore confidence to troops.
The army chief explained that the court-martial was set up to try those soldiers and officers who ran away during the operation.
MINIMAH added that some of the soldiers joined the army to acquire wealth while others joined the army for employment, stressing that they did not join to fight.
The army chief said only soldiers who could fight for the country should take the oath of allegiance of the military commands.
He said the choice of Maiduguri for the celebration was for the army to identify with the government and people of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states and the entire North Eastern region that the army shared their pains.
Here in Rivers State, the Nigerian Army Day celebrations included an Interdenominational Service at the Saint James Military Church in the Port Harcourt Barracks.
The service was officiated by Reverend Captain Y. DAVID and Reverend Father C.G. JIDERE.
Other dignitaries who were at the event include the Secretary to the State Government, KENNETH KOBANI, who represented Governor NYESOM WIKE.
Also the Commander of the Second Brigade of the Nigerian Army Sector Two and Joint Task Force Operations also known as Pulo Shield, Brigadier KOKO ESSIEN graced the occasion.
