Hope has faded for some two hundred migrants, out of about six hundred involved in a boat accident off the Libyan coast of the Mediterranean Sea.

A passenger boat has capsized in the Mediterranean Sea with hundreds of people fear missing. Reports say the boat was carrying as much as seven hundred people before the accident off the coast of Libya. Rescuers have been mobilized to the scene of the accident in a bid to reach survivors and recover the dead.

A passenger boat has capsized in the Mediterranean Sea with hundreds of people fear missing. Reports say the boat was carrying as much as seven hundred people before the accident off the coast of Libya. Rescuers have been mobilized to the scene of the accident in a bid to reach survivors and recover the dead. A report quoting the Irish navy said significant loss of life was feared while campaign group, Medecins Sans Frontieres confirmed many deaths. It also quoted the Italian coast guard and the United Nations refugee agency claiming that four hundred people have been rescued and twenty-five bodies recovered.
