Activities continues at the venue of the Rivers State Governorship and National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunals sitting in Abuja.

In one of the key decisions yesterday; the Governorship Tribunal dismissed the petition filed by the Social Democratic Party and its candidate, Reverend MINIBIAM HARRY. The Tribunal chaired by Justice ABDULKADIR PINDIGA took the decision for lack of competence and want of jurisdiction on the SDP’s petition. Counsel to the Petitioners, EMMANUEL AMEH, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria told correspondent JAMES IGAH outside the courtroom that he would seek further directives from his clients on whether to appeal the ruling.

Our correspondent reports that INEC and Governor WIKE, who are the other respondents in the case expressed satisfaction with the ruling. Also, the National Assembly Election Tribunal fixed  Friday this week for ruling on an application by Senator OLAKA WOGU of the PDP challenging the petition against his election victory by Senator MAGNUS ABE of APC for Rivers South-East Senatorial District.
