The release of a video by Boko Haram militants is increasing speculation about the health of their leader, ABUBAKAR SHEKAU, following his continued absence from public view since March.

Nigeria's military  had recaptured all towns and cities from Boko Haram after SHEKAU  released an audio message pledging allegiance to the Islamic State group.

In the eight-minute video, an unidentified young man speaks in the name of the Islamic State in West Africa.

Meanwhile, the military said last Sunday that it had freed one hundred and seventy eight people held captive by Boko Haram in north-eastern Borno state.
