The National Association of Residents Doctors has called on President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to institute a forensic audit of the fifty-four federal tertiary hospitals across the country.
President of the association, Doctor PRINCE DAN-JUMBO made the call at a media briefing in Lagos.
Doctor DAN-JUMBO said the audit would help clear allegations of mismanagement of funds and inflated spending on personnel against the management of some teaching hospitals.
He said the call was part of the association’s resolutions at the end of its National Executive Council meeting held at the weekend.
The Resdent Doctors accused Chief Medical Directors of federal health institutions of disobeying a circular issued by the Federal Government on the welfare of members.
He also stressed that non-implementation of the circular is responsible for the pockets of strike by resident doctors in these tertiary institutions in the country.
