The Nigeria Police Force and the Defence Intelligence Agency have agreed to work together to improve the capacity of their operatives.

This was the outcome of a meeting between the Inspector General of Police, SOLOMN ARASE and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Air Vice-Marshall MONDAY RIKU MORGAN during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja.

 

The Nigeria Police Force and the Defence Intelligence Agency have agreed to work together to improve the capacity of their operatives.

This was the outcome of a meeting between the Inspector General of Police, SOLOMN ARASE and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Air Vice-Marshall MONDAY RIKU MORGAN during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja.

The Chief of Defence Intelligence promised to support the Nigeria Police through improved capacity building on intelligence gathering for police officers with a view to enhance national security.

On his part; the Inspector General of Police urged the Defence Intelligence Chief to extend same opportunity to junior police officers.

IGP ARASE said a good number of police officers have benefited from the Intelligence course offered by the Military Intelligence School.

The Inspector General of Police, SOLOMN ARASE has initiated steps to deploy modern technology in the fight against crime through improvement in the police finger print database.

To achieve the goal, the Police Force is working in partnership with United Kingdom-based Association of Criminal Records Office.

A statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, EMMANUEL OJUKWU said IGP ARASE has entered into a robust fusion with organization in the UK.

Part of the objective is to review the Nigeria police criminal justice system, develop criminal records register, provide the police with electronic criminal records gadgets, and modernize police information technology needs.
