The Rivers State Council of the Nigerian Labor Congress has flagged off it what it calls state level school in Port Harcourt.

State Chairman of the NLC, BEATRICE ITUBO said the aim is for labour leaders to meet and interact, and build on their experiences.

ITUBO said education is very important and cannot be ignored, adding that the programme would train members to be able to respond to challenges that arise in their workplace.

Also speaking at the event, a representative of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, OMOABIE UDEME charged the workers to put in their best.

Correspondent Judith Okafor reports that the NLC State Level School is expected to last for ten weeks, and is meant to draw participants from trade union leaders and activists.
