The Nigeria Police High Command has warned against unauthorized use of police personnel as guards by corporate organizations.

The warning comes against the backdrop of a case where an oil services company hired a dismissed police officer, who in turn procured miscreants dressed in fake police uniform and armed to guard the company.

The warning comes against the backdrop of a case where an oil services company hired a dismissed police officer, who in turn procured miscreants dressed in fake police uniform and armed to guard the company.

In a statement, the Force Public Relations Officer, EMMANUEL OJUKWU said it was the duty of the Nigeria Police Force to warn the public of the dangers inherent in such unlawful practice.

He said the Special Protection Unit of the Nigeria Police Force is available and equipped to meet the special protection needs of corporate bodies and individuals.
