The Assistant Youth Leader of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Matthew Digi, has called for a comprehensive stakeholders' meeting involving all Ogoni youth groups to discuss the future of the clean-up exercise in their region.

Digi, in an interview with Today FM's Preye Izogu, stressed the need for transparency, especially as the community reflects on the 30th anniversary of KEN SARO-WIWA’s death.

He emphasized that the focus should be on the full implementation of the UNEP report on environmental degradation, rather than on removing the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP's) project coordinator, Professor Nenibarini Zabbey.

In his remarks, Ogoni youth activist Joseph Ebenezer criticized the slow pace of the power project being carried out by HYPREP.

Ebenezer also addressed discussions about the 2027 Ogoni governorship race, describing it as a self-serving agenda pushed by a few politicians, while asserting that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara is working in the broader interest of the state.
