Governor Fubara Commits to Judicial Staffing and Support at 2024-2025 Legal Year Opening
The Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara has promised to look into the issue of employment of judicial staff as requested by the chief judge of the state, Simone Chibuzor-Amadi.
Governor Fubara spoke at a special court session to mark the opening of 2024-2025 legal year, where he revealed that an act of sabotage to the government leads to deployment of a lawyer from the ministry of justice to an agric farm.
He expressed his commitment in assisting the judiciary both legally and materially to ensure speedy dispensation of justice, emphasizing that no society could succeed without the independent judiciary.
The governor while commanding the Rivers State judiciary for its firm stance for justice, encourage members to always stand by what is right and just, irrespective of who is involved.
Governor Fubara further assured that the State government under his watch will continue to support and create a conducive atmosphere for the judiciary to continue to discharge its duties faithful.
Today FM's Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that the governor had during his address at the special church session, disclosed how some judges are being threatened by those he described as enemies of the state, but urged them not to be deterred by those threats which he said will soon become a thing of the past.
He also advised judges to be bold enough to expose anyone calling them secretly to pervert justice.
