Some residents of Port Harcourt have urged the newly elected Local Government Chairpersons in Rivers State to deliver good services to their local communities.

Speaking in an interview with Today FM's Odinakachi Celestine, the residents while congratulating the new council Chairpersons, noted that the office they have assumed is not a place to sit and do nothing or compete with each other on who has more political capacity to hero-worship the office of the governor.

The residents charged the newly elect to intervene in the state of infrastructures of some primary schools in their areas, restore electricity in communities and empower small-medium enterprises to boast local economy.

They also charged them to judiciously make use of the council funds that will be directly paid to them by the Federal Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, to execute projects and programs that will have lasting impact on the people.
