Emohua Stakeholders Condemn Attack on Council Building, Call for Unity and Development

Stakeholders in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have condemned the attack on the council building, describing the perpetrators as prodigal sons.

The stakeholders, comprising of traditional rulers, political leaders, opinion and representative of women and youth leaders in a stakeholders meeting and proclamation of Emohua Legislative 10th Assembly said true sons and daughters of the LGA will not orchestrate a plan to burn down the property.

One of the Leaders of the All Progressive Congress in Rivers State, Ohna Andrew Uchendu who spoke after the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Charles Beke had given his goodwill message said he was one hundred percent committed to supporting the administration of governor Siminalayi Fubara because of his vision in developing the state.

Uchendu while advising the newly elected chairman to work towards rewriting the history of the local government said he had told President Bola Tinubu that Rivers State is not a conquered state and has also told the Minister of Federal Capital Territory to work within the provision of law for the sake of peace of state.

Addressing the people, the newly elected Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Chief David Omereji condemned the destruction of properties at the local government, claiming that the perpetrators are former political leaders in the LGA.

Chief Omereji said it is time for Emohua people to work towards development and security of lives and properties, just as he sought for support from the people.

Today Fm Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that the Emohua council chairman had during proclamation of the 10th legislative Assembly, dissolved 9th Legislative Assembly and all standing committees and encouraged the councilors to ensure that they make people oriented policies and laws that will reflect true value.

The Legislative 10th Assembly, during their first sitting, elected Precious Ada George representing Ogbakiri ward 2 as the leader, Bright Elechi of ward 7 as Deputy Leader and Clement Dimkpa as Chief Whip.
