A group known as the Rivers Coalition for Human Rights (RCHR) has petitioned the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS) against Alhaji Buba Umaru, Moji Frank-Sampson, Emeka Sampson, and Junior Prince Nsirirm.

The petition, signed by the group's coordinator Derefaka Green, Assistant Secretary Ndamzhi Amadi, and Program Research Officer Hannah Nikade, seeks intervention on behalf of the Oshiugbokor community in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The group claims the community has become victims in their own land.

Addressed also to President Bola Tinubu, the petition accuses the individuals of alleged involvement in illegal oil bunkering, pipeline vandalism, and other criminal activities said to be occurring at Niger Delta Petroleum Resources, now Aradel Refinery, located in Ogbele Community.

According to the petition, which was obtained by Today FM, the RCHR urged the DSS and President Tinubu to take swift action against Umaru, a retired Chief Superintendent of Police, who has been employed by Aradel for over ten years as the community liaison manager, overseeing the company's relations with host communities.

The petitioners further allege that Frank-Sampson, with the support of Umaru, unjustly dethroned the paramount ruler of the community and imposed his own brother, as they also claim that Umaru now holds a position on the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Aradel's Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) committee as the paramount ruler.

The group appealed to the DSS to deploy a specialized team to address what they describe as a national security issue, citing illegal bunkering and growing insecurity in Ahoada East LGA, which they say threatens Nigeria's oil revenue.
