RIVERS STATE: SCHOOL BOARD CHAIRMAN WARNS AGAINST CORRUPTION, PROMISES IMPROVEMENTS FOR STAFF

The chairman of the Rivers State senior secondary schools board, Sam Emejuru has warned the board will not tolerate any form of corrupt practices among staff.

The senior secondary school board chairman who gave this warning during a seminar organized for zonal directors at the Board headquarters, said anyone caught engaging in sharp practices will be sacked.

Emejuru disclosed that Governor Siminalayi Fubara has promised to address the needs of principals and zonal directors, which he said include; provision of incentives as imprests and other working tools to motivate them.

Emejuru also announced that officials of the board will embark on unscheduled inspections to schools.

The resource person at the seminar, Professor Robert Ndukwe who is an expert in Educational management from Ignatius Ajuru university of education, blamed the poor quality of education on inadequate supervision and called for seriousness to ensure the success of the system.
