TRADERS IN RIVERINE COMMUNITIES DECRY POOR PATRONAGE

Traders in Abonnema town, Asari Toru Local Government Area of Rivers state are facing significant challenges as they grapple with low patronage and skyrocketing costs of goods, primarily attributed to the increase in fuel price in the country.

The traders, who spoke to today FM's Preye Izogu, said they rely heavily on transportation to procure goods from various sources.

Highlighting the effect of the hike in fuel price on their businesses, most of the vendors and shop owners in Abonnema town said there has been a substantial decline in the number of customers frequenting the markets in the community.

They noted that customers, burdened by the fuel price have drastically reduced their purchases, opting for essential items only.
