Former Niger Delta militant leader, High Chief ATEKE TOM has distanced himself from the disappearance of some former militant leaders who are wanted by security agencies.ATEKE TOM particularly said he no knowledge of the whereabouts of TOMPOLO and SOLOMON NDIGBARA, whose properties in Ogoni and Port Harcourt were recently raided by soldiers.The leader of the Coalition of Niger Delta Indigenous Communities was reacting to online publications that accused him of harboring both TOMPOLO and SOLOMON NDIGBARA in his camps.In a statement released by the spokesman of the group, OYINKURO NAMAPELE, ATEKE TOM said the allegation was intended to malign his character and person.ATEKE TOM said he was aware that it could be a political strategy to decimate the influence of freedom fighters and to influence public perception against Niger Delta leaders.The statement by the Coalition of Niger Delta Indigenous Communities said leaders of the group would not fold their arms and watch their communities become militarized by the Federal authorities.
