The Nigerian Army has confirmed that it has cleared land mines from the Damaturu-Biu Road which runs between Yobe and Borno States.
In a message on its Twitter page by its Acting Director of  Public Relations, Colonel SANI K. USMAN, the Army said the mission was undertaken by a team of Special Forces.

In a message on its Twitter page by its Acting Director of  Public Relations, Colonel SANI K. USMAN, the Army said the mission was undertaken by a team of Special Forces.
Colonel USMAN noted that four Improvised Explosives Devices allegedly planted by suspected terrorists were successfully detonated during the painstaking and thorough operation.
The Army spokesman encouraged commuters to use the road as adequate security is being provided. 
The message added the public should be more security conscious and report any suspicious persons and movements to the security agents.
