Police confirm attack on Atiku supporters in RIvers

The Rivers State Police command has confirmed the attack on a group of supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, who were hired to mount a campaign bill board for the party’s Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar in Omuma Local Government Area of the state.

The Command Public Relations officer, Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement confirmed that the PDP supporters led by one Nnamdi Nwogu were resisted by suspected hired youths in Eberi community.

The Command spokesperson said the situation caused a fight that resulted to one Udochukwu Nwakpala sustaining serious injuries and was taken to an undisclosed hospital.

SP Iringe-Koko said Police Patrol teams have been deployed as a reinforcement and that normalcy has since returned to the area, while investigation into the matter has commenced.
