The Directorate of State Services has dismissed reports of being behind a witchunt against former National Security Adviser, retired Colonel SAMBO DASUKI.
Colonel DASUKI had accused the DSS of laying a siege on his house in a bid to implicate him in alleged security breaches.
The DSS said the raid on DASUKI was based on a credible intelligence linking the army colonel with an alleged plan to commit treasonable felony against the Nigerian State.
In a statement, the DSS said Colonel Dasuki reportedly resisted the operations by the use of the military operatives guarding his home, even after the presentation of a duly signed search warrant.
The DSS also explained that the delay in getting into the former NSA’s home stretched the operations from what should have taken about two hours to over ten hours.
After the search operations, the DSS said that it found seven high caliber rifles, several magazines and military-related gears.
The security agency noted that it recovered twelve striking new vehicles, including five with bulletproof features, which it alleged the former NSA failed to produce evidence of ownership.
