Port Harcourt Polytechnic Suspend A Lecturer Over Sexual Harassment

The Management of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnics, Rumuola in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has suspended one of its lecturer, Zoe Tamunotonye Solomon for three months on his involvement in allegations of sexual harassment of a student of the institution.

The Management of the Polytechnics also set up investigative panel to investigate the alleged sexual harassment of the student identified as Blessing Audu, a female student of the institution whom was arrested by the lecturer on allegation of diversion of his two hundred and fifty thousand naira.

According to a memo signed by the registrar of the Institution, Chris Woke and sent to the out as obtained by Today Fm, the Management disassociated itself from the conduct of the staff and directed the committee to submit the report of their investigation within one Month.

Today Fm had brought you a report of the arrest of the female student by detectives of Abacha Police station where she denied diverting money belonging to the male lecturer while insisting that the lecturer arrested her because she rejected his love advancement and Marriage proposal.

It took the intervention of the commissioner of police Friday Eboka for the release of the female student following petition by a Human Rights Advocacy group Centre For Basic Right Accountability Campaign.
