Over one hundred and ninety three thousand persons have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in Rivers State.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Health, Professor Princewill Chike, in a media briefing at the state ministry of health in Port Harcourt yesterday.

Professor Chike also disclosed that the state has flagged off a new phase of the vaccination programme from November 22, which he said will last for fifty days, to fight a predicted fourth wave of the virus.

The Commissioner for health also explained that mass vaccination centers will be cited in highly populated areas, adding that the state has accredited some private facilities and community pharmacies for the exercise.

The Health Commissioner also disclosed that the state has set up a joint Taskforce against possible fraud during the campaign.
