Rivers traditional rulers call for more security in communities
Traditional Rulers in Rivers State have insisted that it is not possible to effectively manage the affairs of the communities without allocation of security votes and attachment of security agencies to them.
His Royal Majesty Eze Felix Otuwarikpo who spoke at the National Conference of Nigeria Union of Journalist in Port Harcourt also accused the Local Government Council Chairmen of abandoning the management of the communities in the hands of the traditional leaders.
Otuwarikpo who was a representative of the Traditional leaders at the conference dismissed allegations that Traditional rulers sponsor cult activities in their various communities.
The Regent of Ekpeye Land however called on Government to avail the Traditional rulers all necessary support to enable them work effectively in managing the affairs of the communities especially in the area of insecurity.
